UltraVision Named February

“Innovation Rocks!” Award Winner

SALEM – It used to be that only Superman had the ability to see through walls as a result of his highly refined x-ray vision. Well, now the “Man of Steel” has company as Salem, NH-based UltraVision has created an intrusion detection device that not only sees through walls, but also roadbeds, sidewalks and ceilings.

Today, UltraVision was named “Innovation Rocks!” Award winner by the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development’s Business Resource Center for the month of February.

The Salem-based developer of ultra wideband (UWB) technologies for use in life rescue and safety systems was honored for its UltraSensor intrusion detection product. UltraSensor not only sees through solid barriers, it also senses motion, threat size, velocity and distance from the area being protected. The device sounds a perimeter alert before an intruder has an opportunity to enter into a sensitive area and is impervious to weather, ambient lighting and other disruptors like falling landscape debris.

“This innovation is a tremendous advance, helping companies and individuals to protect lives and property,” New Hampshire Division of Economic Development Interim Director Roy Duddy said. “In an era where sophisticated security solutions are necessary to ensure safety, UltraSensor is a great example of New Hampshire creativity and ingenuity.”
