Rocket Fish Rocket Fish Named December Innovation Rocks! Award Winner

An innovative sneaker design led to Portsmouth-based Rocket Fish being named the Innovation Rocks! Award winner by the New Hampshire Business Resource Center for the month of December.

Rocket Fish, an industrial design company specializing in the athletic market, recently partnered with Steve & Barrys University Sportswear to design and unveil the Starbury shoe line, a product that is endorsed by New York Knicks star Stephon Marbury and marketed as a high quality but lower priced sneaker for inner city youth. The shoe sold out in the first week and a second and third line are already in production.

Rocket Fish company principals T.J. Gray and Ashley Brown have more than 22 years combined professional product designing experience, having worked with some of the biggest names in sports including Johnny Damon, Ivan Rodriguez, Mark McGuire, Carl Lewis, Maurice Green, Michael Johnson and Marion Jones.

Rocket Fish embodies the concepts of innovation and entrepreneurship, said New Hampshire Business Resource Center Director Roy Duddy. Not only did they create a shoe line that looks fantastic, it is also affordable for young people who cant afford to pay $100 for sneakers. This is a quality and socially responsible product.
