With the second highest percentage of high tech workers per capita in the United States and the lowest unemployment rate in New England, New Hampshire's workforce is exceptionally strong.
New Hampshire workers bring a solid work ethic and creativity to the job. Their entrepreneurial nature is reflected in the fact that the Granite State currently ranks sixth in the nation in the number of new companies started each year. In 2005, there were over 24 new businesses started in New Hampshire, many of which relocated from other states in New England and the West Coast.
Companies interested in moving their businesses to New Hampshire are pleasantly surprised by the availability of highly skilled workers. The state ranks eighth in terms of in-migration of domestic workers in the U.S. and far outpaces its New England neighbors. In addition, New Hampshire features 26 colleges including the University of New Hampshire system and Dartmouth College.
New Hampshire also offers a number of programs which assist employers with job training and recruitment issues.
