The Workforce Opportunity Council (WOC), in accordance with the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, exists to assist the Governor in planning and overseeing the state's workforce development system. WOC works in cooperation with the Division of Economic Development and other partners to promote lifelong learning and to provide the means for New Hampshire workers to gain sufficient skills, education and employment.

For more information on the Workforce Opportunity Council, workforce management, laws and job training, visit NH WORKS One-Stop Career Centers. The One-Stop Career Centers are located at New Hampshire Employment Security offices, libraries, community colleges, Vocational Rehabilitation and Community Action offices throughout the state. Visitors to One-Stop Career Centers are able to access a multitude of career services all under one roof. They are able to explore online job matching, career development software and vocational research. They can also receive assistance in writing a cover letter and creating a resume.

New Hampshire's Rapid Response Team now has its own web site to help dislocated workers keep up with career counseling services and training opportunities.

The web site, www.nhrapidresponse.com is highlighting activities being conducted for the 303 workers at Wausau Paper in Groveton, according to Dick Anagnost, Chair of the Workforce Opportunity Council.
