Regional Planning Commission Resources

This page provides information about New Hampshire's Regional Planning Commissions, formed under RSA 36:46..

The primary role of New Hampshire’s nine Regional Planning Commissions (RPC) is to support local municipalities in their planning and community development responsibilities. This is achieved through a variety of means, including, but not limited to, advising on local ordinances and land use issues; providing professional planning services (referred to as “circuit riding”); helping to secure funds for transportation and infrastructure projects; working to obtain and administer state and federal grants; and reducing local costs through regional coordination and cooperation.

The RPCs are a valuable planning partner to the Office of Planning and Development. A comprehensive view of planning issues at a state, regional, and local level is made possible by partnerships between OPD, the RPCs, and local municipalities.
