The New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs BEA is reminding eligible small businesses, private nonprofit organizations, and other qualifying enterprises in four New Hampshire counties that they have until August 24, 2026, to apply for low-interest federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
The assistance is available to eligible organizations that experienced economic losses associated with moisture and prolonged colder-than-normal temperatures occurring May 1–31, 2025. The SBA disaster declaration includes Carroll, Coos, Rockingham, and Strafford counties in New Hampshire.
“Timely access to capital can make a meaningful difference for businesses and nonprofit organizations working to recover from unexpected economic disruptions,” said New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs Commissioner Lucy Lange. "Our job is to make sure no eligible business in Carroll, Coos, Rockingham, or Strafford County has to make an impossible choice between staying open and keeping their doors locked. This funding exists to close that gap."
Eligible applicants include:
- Small businesses
- Private nonprofit and faith-based organizations
- Small agricultural cooperatives
- Small aquaculture enterprises
SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans are intended to provide working capital assistance for operational expenses caused by the disaster. The loans may be available even when an organization did not sustain physical damage, provided it experienced qualifying financial losses directly related to the disaster.
Key Loan Details
- Up to $2 million in loan funding
- Interest rates as low as 4% for small businesses and 3.625% for private nonprofit organizations
- Loan terms of up to 30 years
- No interest accrual or required payments during the first 12 months following the first loan disbursement
- Actual loan amounts and terms are determined by the SBA based on each applicant's financial condition.
