The Executive Council confirmed the nomination of Jeanie Forrester of Meredith as director of intergovernmental affairs at the Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA).
Forrester, the Tilton Town Administrator since 2018, brings to her new position a range of experience, from economic development to community service.
“Jeanie is the ideal person to step into this role,” said BEA Commissioner Taylor Caswell. “She has managed community and economic development projects to successful outcomes; she has served as a state senator, and she knows how to forge the relationships needed to tackle issues and resolve them.”
As the director of intergovernmental affairs, Forrester will coordinate BEA’s strategic initiatives with officials from local and county governments, regional organizations, and federal agencies.
Prior to her appointment as town administrator five years ago, Forrester served three terms representing District 2 in the state senate; held town administrator positions in the Towns of New Durham and Tuftonboro and had roles in state and federal government.
Her community service experience includes terms on the Meredith Board of Selectmen; the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance; the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program; the Belknap Economic Development Council, and more.
"I am excited to be a part of a team of professionals that work tirelessly to create an environment for success here in New Hampshire," said Forrester.
She will be starting her new role at BEA on December 29, 2023.
